Who is Veruska Anconitano?
- Multilingual SEO and Internationalization-Localization Consultant.
- Food Travel Journalist of the Year awardee in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
- I’m a professional pizza lover and a constant smiler, and I proudly defend these titles at all times.
Veruska Anconitano is a Multilingual SEO and Internationalization-Localization Consultant with 20 years of experience working with established brands that seek to enter non-English-speaking markets. My work is at the intersection of SEO and Internationalization-Localization, where I manage workflows, teams, tech stacks, projects and people in iSEO, i18, and l10n. Leveraging my background in sociology, sociolinguistics, SFL, semiotics, and a master’s in Data Science, I follow a culturalized approach to SEO, Internationalization, and localization that merges sociology, sociolinguistics, and data.
I am a certified project manager who works in English, Italian, Spanish, Korean, French, Portuguese, and Japanese.
I am also an experienced food and travel journalist, certified by the Italian professional association of Journalists (ODG) and a Food Travel Journalist of the Year awardee in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Additionally, I co-founded several sites and magazines covering different niches and sectors and I serve as a mentor for unprivileged girls and over-40s women.
I am an avid traveller and a professional eater, particularly vocal about pizza. A runner and a yogi, I find great pleasure in smiling and being ironic and happy almost all the time.
Advice For Anyone Joining The Industry
- Find your voice; it’s yours and no one else’s. Don’t echo or copy others, both in how you present yourself and what you do. Copying others might seem like an easy path, a formula for success, but it is merely an illusion that easily fades when transported into the reality. . Forge your own path and be true to yourself.
Areas Of Interest
- My favorite things are languages and, most specifically, the role of language in society and the implications and how this works online.
- On-page SEO, Project Management and Data are equally important for my work in iSEO & Internationalization.

Any Results/Highlights From Your Work You Want To Promote? Any Impact Youโre Proud Of?
Regardless of the results achieved at work, which are a constant stimulus and of which I am very proud, I’m really proud of the work I do to promote the importance of a sociological approach to internationalization and iSEO. I speak at online and offline events, write for magazines and for researches/essays, train people and companies, and mentor people of any kind advocating for a specific focus on language, culture and inclusivity when it comes to international and, most of all, multilingual SEO.
I’m also super proud of mentoring ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฌ who aspire to make their mark in tech (or are still unsure) without wanting to jump into coding. That’s why serving as an Ambassador for Google Women Techmakersย is really valuable to me.
